Christmas is Coming by Marita

Never mind the Starks with their whole “Winter is Coming”, take a look at the calendar and you will notice “Christmas is Coming”

Christmas and the months leading up to it are a challenging time of year for us.

Half of our extended family has birthdays in the last 3 months of the year. Party overload.

Decorations go up at the shops earlier each year. Everywhere we go there is sparkly tinsel and Christmas cheer, home, school, shops, friends. Sensory overload.

Not to mention end of term 4, end of school year. Transitions ahoy.

Summer heat, daylight savings, late nights, so much sunshine.

A challenging time of year.

One thing that does help is having a count down calendar. Making the length of time till Christmas into a concrete visual, yes this time of year is fun, yes the craziness will end.

We use simple A4 page calendar grid from boardmaker. I pencil in events as we find out about them and try to make sure we only have one thing a day on.

I’ve made the calendar available for anyone who needs it. Click here for .pdf free download.

A selection of free picture visuals is also available forĀ free .pdf download, just click here.

As per requests I have added calendars for January 2013 and February 2013.
